The Collectors Club has published several works on philately and postal history. We have had the honor of bringing Nick Kirke’s landmark, two volume work, New York City Foreign Mail 1845-1878, to print and it is available for purchase by all who have interest. This book is an excellent reference work. Even if you do not personally have an interest in this area of the hobby, these volumes would be an excellent addition to your local library.
In Nick’s own words, this publication focuses on “mail processed in the New York City post office in 1845-1878 that received hallmark New York City Foreign Mail Cancellations (NYCFM). In a new chronological classification listing, I expand the number of NYCFM cancels from 201 to 315. My aim is not to regurgitate old information but to explore new avenues; maybe even inspire a new generation of collectors.”
Today we are offering an interview of the author recorded and shared by Philacast in late May of 2025. We hope you enjoy the interview.
